You are here
Capital of Peru founded in 1535. In its historic downtown you can appreciate the colonial style in the architecture, such as the cathedral, the Santo Domingo and San Francisco convents, and along its streets from long ago with beautiful carved balconies that have lasted until today.
We can visit exciting museums such as Museo Larco, Archeology, Anthropology, and history museums. Museo de la Nacion and Lima´s Art Museum hold beautiful pieces from Pre-Inca and Inca cultures.
We´ll also find beautiful archeological monuments among the modern city, such as Huaca Pucllana, or Huaca Huallamarca. Just a few minutes south of Lima, enjoying a Pacific Ocean view we find the most important sanctuary on the coast: Pachacamac.
Some other attractive places worth mentioning for its night life are Miraflores and the bohemian district of Barranco, where you can find clubs, bars, “peñas” with music and dances typical of Peru with their specialty in cocktails based on our famous Pisco (alcohol made of grapes), restaurants with exquisite dishes, and streets with lots of stories to tell.
